Downtown Summerlin Holiday Season with Annual Parade, Rock Rink, Santa, and More
Downtown Summerlin, the bustling urban hub within the Summerlin master planned community, is reclaiming its title as Southern Nevada’s go-to holiday destination! The 2023 festive season commences in November, bringing back beloved holiday traditions. This includes the return of Santa Claus, the crowd-favorite Holiday Parade, and the grand opening of the Rock Rink outdoor skating rink on Friday, Nov. 17.
Happening now until Dec. 16, the free and enchanting holiday parade along Park Centre Drive will take place every Friday and Saturday evening at 6 p.m. The parade promises a magical experience with lively holiday tunes, snow, dancers, and the star of the show, Santa himself.
The Santa Chalet, presented by Tri Pointe Homes and situated in the Macy’s Promenade, is open daily until Dec. 24. Photo packages with Santa are available for $42.99, and reservations are highly recommended. Santa extends a warm welcome to pets for photos every Tuesday from Nov. 21 through Dec. 19 between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., as well as on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to noon. Children with sensory conditions can arrange special visits with Santa via reservations on Summerlin.com. Additionally, kids can drop off letters to Santa at the Chalet’s mailbox, with each letter prompting a $1 donation by Downtown Summerlin to the Goodie Two Shoes Foundation, supporting disadvantaged children with essential items.
Rock Rink, presented by Live Nation, is offering skate rentals starting at $16. The festive holiday train, available for $5 per person, for both adults and kids, will be running throughout the destination. Hours vary, and appointments are recommended, all accessible on Summerlin.com.
In collaboration with Jewish Nevada, Downtown Summerlin is hosting a one-night Hanukkah celebration on December 13. The event will feature the lighting of the Menorah, a family skate night, entertainment, children’s activities, and hot cocoa with lite bites.
For those inclined to give back during the holiday season, The Giving Machine will be open from mid-November to year-end. The machine, organized by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, allows visitors to make holiday donations to local nonprofits and international charitable initiatives. Beneficiary organizations this year include The Just One Project, Opportunity Village, Communities In Schools Southern Nevada, Baby’s Bounty, and Jewish Family Service Agency.
Lights for Flights, a captivating activation featuring seven giant lighted words such as LOVE, JOY, HOPE, PEACE, SOAR, MIRACLE, and I LOVE YOU, will return for another year. Sponsored to raise awareness and funds for Miracle Flights, the signs create the perfect holiday backdrop for Instagram-worthy moments.
Finally, at Las Vegas Ballpark, Enchant, a whimsical Christmas light maze and village, has returned now through Dec. 31. Details are available at EnchantChristmas.com, and for more on Downtown Summerlin’s holiday events, visit Summerlin.com. Get ready to celebrate the holiday season in style at Downtown Summerlin!
